To those of you who take the time to read and reply to this, I thank you! I am sorry if I seem to be on a Mom theme these days. With graduation and other things coming up in the near future...she is on my mind a lot lately. Thanks again. < !signature-->Love ya, AMY Six Years Before…Six Years After By: Amy M. Kennedy ~ In loving tribute of my mom, Linda Kennedy Six years before you came into my life I had another family, lived at another place Though I don’t really remember much A memory here, perhaps the occasional face Then things went bad, and I was forced to leave Left the home I knew Said good-bye to the woman I called “Mom” Wiped away all traces of tears with the corner of my sleeve Six years I lived without you Not knowing what lay in store for me About to be blessed with an angel Six years before any of this would ever come true Then you came into my life like a dream The Lord brought us together… it was fate I needed you as much as you needed me You healed my heart, seam by seam Days of laughter and sunshine rays Mother and daughter sharing an unbreakable bond You taught me practically everything I know Unconditional love you gave me through those days Then a dark cloud came and settled over me The Lord took you away to his kingdom Pain tore at my heart, almost forcing me to give in Tears streamed down my face at night, could hardly see Now it’s been six years since the day you went up above Graduation is coming, I wish that you were here I know you’ll be with me in spirit, tucked away in my heart When I cross the stage I’ll look up to heaven with tears of love Now my life is different, but I’m happy once again Has been a long hard road that I have traveled However I know all things happen for a reason And when I miss you, I look into my heart where you lie…within ~Live today as though it were your last but prepare for tomorrow as though it were here~ [This message has been edited by Aimster (edited 04-06-2000).] |

I dont pretend to understand the reasons, nor do I have any answers to the why of these things...all I know is how we learn and grow and live our lives after a loss...is the TRUE one way we honor them and pay them tribute...how we live our lives in their light...that is the measure of their love. that being said...KNOW as I do...she is so very proud and so very pleased. you shine in her light Amy...you are her success story. take care my sweets love ya, jm |

your poem was sad but beautiful, I am glad that it ended on a happy note...and I feel God places people in our lives to help us cope with our loss, (not to replace) but to be that someone to lean on. If I was your mom I would be very proud of you, not just your poetry, but the love you have and compassion.I'm sure she is smiling "Love is not love Which alters when it alteration finds, Or bends with the remover to remove. O,no! it is an ever-fixed mark....William Shakespeare |

Amy~ Your feelings are very natural, hon. When you walk across that stage and get your college diploma ... know that your mother is pleased for you and her spirit lives in your heart. Honest emotions need no apologies. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |

Aimster, I know exactly how you feel. . .my father died when I was 10, and I going through all the things that a teenager goes through was pretty hard sometimes, but I just knew in my heart that he was proud of me and that I had done well. . . And I know that your mom is very proud of the things that you have done, for graduating and making your life better. . .this was a wonderful poem and you are a wonderful person. . . Much love and strength to you, my friend. . . ----------------------------------------------------------------- That which gives light must endure burning --Victor Frankl |
