Sepia Mountains And Valleys
~*Marge Tindal*~

Mountain veiled soft sepia tone
across distant horizons rise
towering from the base
clear up to the sky
reflected in the
valley snuggled
close in lap
of land
take
me
back to
the mountain
top so I can once
more stand and gaze
across the valley of this
great land Sepia hue of yon
mountain lost now from my view
take me again to the mountain top so
the valley once more comes into my view

Sometimes we appreciate the valley more when we can look at it with perspective, eh?

Nice one, Marge..

Nan~
Yes, the valley looks lovely from the mountain top ... and the mountain top
so inviting from the valley floor.
Thanks for your comments.

As a mountain lover myself, I truly loved this one. Made me think of my times in western North Carolina...in the mountains. Thank you much for the memory. Beautiful imagery in this!

margie-girl...you did it again...another beautiful, perfect poem...and as always...
with your creative and imaginative presentation.
perfect.
take care, jm

The stars shine so bright, now's the time
I close my eyes - soft wind touch my face,
Cool sand upon the place where I once kissed you
And held you close.
Now I will reach for the stars...
Because Oh my love, that's where you are...
Though the storms of black night rage on
I still see your face
I still feel your lips on mine
And though my heart feels all alone without you
I still hear you sing to me
I still hear your voice on the sea...

You do have a way with words that touches the soul.  Love this one, too.   Have a great day!!!  And by the way, my friend loved "Soldier With Wings"!

Elizabeth, my friend~
Thank you.  The mountain often disappears
from view when you're standing on the top ..
and the valley beckons.  Then when in the valley ... so beckons the mountain.
I love the climb up and back down.

Nate~
I wish you were too, my friend.
So good to see you when you drop
in here.   Thank you for liking.
That makes me smile.
