If I Could

If I could take away the pain
And claim it for myself
I surely would
If I could make you well today,
Relieve you of your illness
I would

If I could love you through it all
I do
And comfort your heart
I am trying
If I could stay beside you through the storm
I am here

If I could make every day more beautiful
Or make the spring come faster
The flowers more vibrant
The birds sing a better song
The April rains turn to May sunshine
The nights more tranquil
I will do all this

If you need me to help you heal
I will
If you want to live again
We shall

Together to the end
You and me

Elizabeth Santos

You two are so fortunate to have each other... and we're equally as fortunate to be able to share in your emotions through this journey.... Nicely done, my friend..

beautiful poem of true love and devotion... these words and emotions heal us all...
perfect Liz, as always.
take carem jm

The stars shine so bright, now's the time
I close my eyes - soft wind touch my face,
Cool sand upon the place where I once kissed you
And held you close.
Now I will reach for the stars...
Because Oh my love, that's where you are...
Though the storms of black night rage on
I still see your face
I still feel your lips on mine
And though my heart feels all alone without you
I still hear you sing to me
I still hear your voice on the sea...

Liz, thank you for this beautiful poem - it touched my heart!  So happy that you have such a wonderful relationship with your mate - reminds me of me and my wife.

Liz, this is a beautiful perception of true love that few of us will find. Keep up the good work.

Liz, both of you are in my prayers. What a beautifully done devotional poem you have here...these are some things I've been wanting to say myself lately.

Hugs, Elizabeth
