**  A dear friend of mine inspired this, as one day he said, "We are not alone in our intricacies..."  He has reminded me that I make my own happiness within myself, and until I love myself for who I am, no one else will.  Thank you sir for understanding and appreciating who I am.  You've never asked for anything or expected anything from me - you've simply been there as my reassurance & my friend. This one is for all the indecisive, intricate "goats".  LOL

"Intricate Labyrinth of Love"

by poetFemmeFatale
April 5, 2000

I've searched so long for happiness
I've looked both high and low -
The one place that I didn't try
was deep inside my soul.

Who would have thought true happiness
was right there all along -
Just waiting was my voice to sing
it's own contented song.

I found you and you helped me see
that I was not alone -
In all my deep intricacies
a bright light you have shown.

I was walking through the dark
trying to find my way, it's true -
Searching through this complex labyrinth,
and what I found was you.

It's as if there is a mirror
in this maze that's all our own -
You understand the words I speak
this same course you have flown.

Our footsteps are the same size
yet we're walking side by side -
I know your thoughts, as they are mine
In you I can confide...

You've reminded me of who I am
I see myself in you -
A love for life so passionate
with dreams we know are true.

I now love who I am
although intricately made -
You have helped me find my happiness
my soul - you serenade.

You've reassured my sanity
my heart's not really stone -
This labyrinth that we create
within ourselves - it's home.

I thought I was a species rare
no one out there like me -
So I'm glad that when I see your eyes
I see within them - -

Me.

~~~~~~~~~~~~
Once again, thank you for reminding me who I am.
I had forgotten.
YES!!!!
This is it Gen!!  You have found the secret!!  You can't love others, really love others, until you love yourself first.  If it were only that easy!!
Now, take a look in that mirror and tell us again what you see. . . now, show the rest of us. . . let's see it. . .
Excellent poem. . . you have done it!!
Danny - (blushing)  I can always count on you to be in the front row!     Thank you, your encouragement has meant alot to me sir.
Mike -  I've read so many of your flawless rhymes that make me swoon - I am honored you read mine!  LOL  (oink oink from Arkansas!)
CherylLynn - You have been there for me through it all...always a quiet reminder I have friends!  Thanks girl!
Cperazzi - Geesh...you make me blush with comments like that!  LOL  Thank you!
Marina - To my buddy in Adult, well, what can I say except that you know me well, and you always back me up!     Love the fun we have in smut, and the smiles!
Liz - Wow, coming from poetic perfection herself, I am floored at your comment!  hehe  THANKS!     I could only hope to ever be as good as you...
Sven - ROFL...every time I read a comment of yours, I see you in a bathroom somewhere using that Herbal Essance Shampoo!  hehe  I bet you're pretty *vocal* when you're excited, 'eh?  LOL
Sey - Long time no see there Sey!  So glad you still love me!  hehe  Truly, thank you sir.  Your comments mean the world to me...I've always admired you.
This "introspective" piece was that to say the least...and I thank each and every one of you who have not only helped me see my faults, but then you stuck by me to help me repair ME...That indeed, is true friendship, and I have many friends here.  I love each and every one of you for helping me be a better person inside.
ROFLMAO at Marina!  hehe  Yes - I think Sven buys that shampoo by the case!  hehehe I KNOW that's what it is...it can't be anything else!  LOL     We should do a poem about it in Adult...LOL  Sven and his shampoo!     "Yes...oh Yes!!! "
Thanks to everyone again, for the comments - this piece was very "imtimate" for me to write.  It took me quite awhile to see that deep into me, and I had to have help at that from a friend!  LOL
You sound like a very "intricate" woman to me.  Your friend must care for you very much.
A lovely poem.
