      The Loom

The radiant gold of morning's sun,
The black of deepest night;
The rainbow passes by in rich array.
Selecting colors carefully,
And blending dark and light,
The fabric of our lives, we weave each day.

Happiness and heartache;
Decisions, right and wrong -
All threads, with which a tapestry is wrought:
A swiftly flowing river;
A rich, unbroken song;
A potpourri of feeling, deed and thought.

Despite our care, unwanted strands
Slip in, from time to time;
Which mar the beauty of our works of art.
Then, patiently, each weaver
Must repair his grand design;
Restoring it with labors of the heart.

Each one of us controls the loom
That weaves his tapestry;
The finished work, the charge of one alone.
So, if we wish for peace of mind,
It's up to you and me,
To seek it out and claim it as our own.

Troy~
I do so enjoy the richness
of this one.
An elegant tapestry.
