~I'm Scared For You~ Your smile makes me laugh because I can tell how happy you are In your innocent eyes there is no wrong Pain does not exist (except for boo boos from the playground) To you, goodbye means "see you tomorrow" there are no goodbyes forever You see the world as a perfect magical place everything amazes you, especially the little things you're so eager to learn about everything But i'm scared for you, and your world I'm scared you'll grow up and be disappointed disappointed in finding out what the worlds really like I don't want to see you hurt I don't want to see the hurt in your eyes when you realize your pefect, magical world has turned in to a living hell I don't want to see your tears of heartach and pain I want you to stay innocent....Forever I want to build a place for you and keep you safe, forever, away from all harm I love you far to much to see you hurt I'm scared for you |

CC, I think every parent has these feelings. Thanks for saying them for all of us. Makes you want to grab those little ones and hold them tight! |

Thank you Tom I wrote this about my nephew, sometimes it scares me what he already has to go through being so young. Kids are growing up way to fast. Thank you for your reply! |

Nicely done. 'Tis indeed a frightening world for our children, however, the children of today are a lot better equipped to handle it than we give them credit for sometimes. |

Dear C.C I know how you feel, I have only just started letting my 11 year old ride to school which is only a few blocks away and we also live in a country town. Sometimes I feel I'm way too protective but then I think I do have to give her some freedom and responsibilities so that she is a little street wise, if you know what I mean. We can't hold them back forever and it's all a part of growing and becoming their own self. Loved your poem Tracie Keep all the windows of your mind open Anne Rooks |

These thoughts do go through our minds at times, and you express then so well. Liz |

This is exquisite, if you don't mind I would love to print this and place it among the pages of my daughters Journal which I have started for her...the story of her life..the way I have seen it. Thank you so much for capturing every parents heart with this one. Hold me for yesterday Kiss me for tomorrow But love me for today. |
