Kaleidoscope

Brilliant colors of the rainbow
Images forever changed
With every turn, a new design
As life and love are rearranged

Magnificent displays appearing
Making smiles and giving hope
A different way, a different view
In life’s superb kaleidoscope

The most delightful lost forever
Impossible to save the past
Events can never be repeated
Splendid moments never last

Keep on turning, keep on looking
Happiness will reappear
Each day brings something unexpected
Don’t retreat from what you fear

Love can come a second time
This is a lesson you will learn
The changing patterns of our lives
Burst forth with every little turn

Most splendid love you’ve ever known
Is right before your very eyes
Look into the kaleidoscope
And let yourself be mesmerized

No matter the degree of sorrow
So many promises of hope
Are just around another turn
Of life’s wondrous kaleidoscope

I have always been intrigued by kaleidoscopes and to this day can't walk past one without raising it up to my eye to view the world through its prisms...what a multi faceted piece of rhyme you've presented for our viewing pleasure here

Liz, what a wonderful job you did with this one! Kaleidoscopes are just like that. You can make a turn and get a beautiful image that can't last forever and, once you turn again, that previous image can never fully reappear but that's ok because there are so many new beautiful images yet to discover and I'm rambling here 'cause it's early and my caffeine supply is only half-satisfied and anyway it is a wonderful idea for a poem comparing life's ever-changing twists and turns in this way and you did a beautiful job with it I'm going for more coffee now

Liz, I knew I wanted to read this as soon as I saw the title and coming from your talented pen, I knew it would be perfection.I was right(smile)
this is excellent and full of both words of wisdom and your poetic grace.
take care, jm

she said I dont know if I've ever been good enough,
and I'm a little bit rusty, and I feel like my head is caving in.
...and I dont know if I've ever been really loved by a hand thats touched me...
and I feel like somethings gonna give...
and I'm a little bit angry.

Elizabeth, my dear~
This is so lovely.
The kaleidoscope does present us
with those ever-changing glints of
colored views.  I've always loved
and been fascinated by them.
Your poem is alive with those
lovely images.
