You made promises of Gold
To ease pain I held inside
Promised a  captured rainbow
Dreams we traveled side by side

Loving me with your kind words
"Forever"and "Always" used
I was often reassured
I would not be left abused

Your kindness was abounding
With hopes of a found soul mate
Your promise was astounding
A gift presented from fate

Your kind words began to fade
As I struggled to hold on
I felt so hurt and betrayed
And wondered where you had gone

It matters not in the end
The final page is the same
The broken vow of  a "friend"
You left same way you came

Quietly without warning
Slipping through the opened crack
Now leaving me in mourning
Screaming for you to come back

You did ease my inner pain
For a brief moment or two
But now as I cry in vain
I wish I'd never met you

Better to have loved and lost
Than not to have loved  at all
To trust  no matter the cost
The price is so very small

You wrote those lines very well
And now I'm left here alone
Standing at the gates of Hell
Once again I will be thrown

But I'll find comfort in thought
That you taught me this one thing
That  my soul cannot be bought
And no one can make me sing

So I will  rebuild the wall
This time with strong stone and steel
Never again to allow
To think my dream will be real

Nameless and Faceless we met
Ungaurded never again
The lessons I'll not forget
Don't knock......I'll not let you in

Butterflies...my heart goes out to you...however, in passion, there is still so much pain....My LJA was a nameless, faceless person online and we too took it into real.  Yes, it turned out that we were/are soul mates, but not without heartache, pain and grief...I don't have any answers for you, but I agree with becoming strong...strong for who you are and what you stand for...and never let anyone take that away from you again...Try to fill your life with happiness to fill the shadows...and I'm here if you wish to chat...

This abounds with hurt feelings and betrayed emotions.  Sad that relationships end that way.
Well written I feel.

Susan~  Thank you for reading and for your concern, it's appreciated.  Your offer is amazing....Thank you

Danny~ Yes it is sad, especially when here you can only rely on what someone says.....But I must also say that I have met some of my very best friends on the net...I'm just much more careful now  ...And Danny thank you for reading...What you feel means more than what others say....words are only worth the heart that you say them with

Excellent, Butterflies!  I am also in the "been-burned-online" category, and you have expressed the emotions involved very eloquently.

but ya know what I have found along the way...
WE only  truly learn from the ones we learned the HARD WAY...as they are the ones that cost us and the ones we remember...
sad but true...human nature I guess...
most of all im sorry your trust was taken... we work so hard to give it back the next time...love and hugs to you sweets...
glad to see you writing again...and with so much emotion...
love ya,jm

Do you care what is thought by others about you
If this day is all that is promised to you
Do you live for the present, the future the past...

hsystems~ I'm sorry you could relate but am thankful that you read   and very touched by your kind words.

J.M.~ my sweet soul sister, I thought you might relate.  We who gaurd so well that when we find someone that can "relate" and touch all the untouchable spots in us we are transformed into the butterfly we use as our icon    Thank you for reading and thank you for the "welcome home" it feels good to flow again...though not as gracefully as you but I am learning.  **Angel Wing Hugs**

You have really touched me with this piece, the word that imediately springs to mind is devastating, a release of much emotion and energy. Very sad that you had to experience those emotions but good to know that you draw strength from the experience and have grown into the butterfly that you are today....   Don't give up your dreams
P.S. It's a hit with me, and thankyou....

Butterflies d.c.
This is very emotional and painful and haunting. It flows so well and I am hard pressed to even find a favorite line because all of them are precious with feeling. Please don't let this one make you build the wall so high and thick that another can't come in. They are not all like this.

Oh boy do I feel your pain, for I too have met mine....but alas we are on a differant path, even though I was ready to do anything for Love....for her. It hurts so much sometimes I dont know if I can make it....but I would do it all again to be able to grasp the magic even for a moment.

Eagle One** Your comments touch my heart, you inspired the release...not the words  .  And I won't give it up.

Wild Child** Thank you so much, I've learned how to build up the walls pretty good by now I try to remind myself that the walls can sometimes keep out the pain but it also keeps everything else out too.

Tracie**Thank you for your heartfelt comments. It means alot.

Eyepulse**I know, some say "I will do anything.." but they have no clue..just words I guess.  I guess I could have handled it all alot better if it was "good bye"...but "nothing" hurts like hell!

Serenity** Butterfly dries.

ButterfliesDC~
Sadness beautifully stated.
You've come far beyond your sorrow.
I wish you rainbows on the 'morrow.
