a mess of thoughts
running through my head
not one to make any sense
a sadness completely undeserved
to the life that leads me
fears totally irrational
for the needs and desires of my heart
searching through the shadows
that follow close behind me
for some small hint or clue
that will push me forward
instead of always falling backward.
