And What of Night?

And what of night's smooth shoulder
when the lace falls to the floor
and all the under aching
can account for nothing more
than need
and breathless dream
beneath a canopy of gold
and newly dewing kisses
ferment my fantasies,
untold?

And what of poetry?
  that speaks so simply
    with such feeling

Meadowmuse, this is so delicate, open, yet secretive. Nice writing.

Meadowmuse,

Nicely done.  Limited subject, not wordy, and VERY well thought out. My compliments!

Claire~
What a combination of dreams memory
and waking anticipation this render is.
My, how elegantly you muse.

take care, jm

Claire, what wonderful imagery and economy of  words.  It's proof that sometimes "less is more."  BEAUTIFUL!

Clair, this reads with aching desire for more. So needing and so wanting, for an encore.
