WHISPERING ROSE It set's alone on the sill of The window to my soul. Forever the symbol of love Silent death must extol. A sheen I glean, beauty unseen, Ever Fate's to disclose. The lifelong gift that lies adrift In my whispering rose. For few can hear that cry of fear Which chills me to the bone. Fewer could hold ever so bold What truth's I've known - alone! Though some might heal the pains I feel If but by polished hand. None there would praise both eyes aglaze Grief but mine to withstand. The darkest dawn of hope ‘er spawn, Dried petals turned to dust. A broken stem forfeits the gem Of an unspoken trust. With tear in eye to testify What Shame already knows, Ever adrift shall die the gift Of my whispering rose. Michael Anderson It's the little things you take for granted, That'll mean the most to you when they're gone. |

Michael, I can relate to what your going thru and I really don`t have any advice that will help. I will say that your alot stronger than I. I couldn`t put all my feelings into words the way that you have here. Hang in there Michael and things will get better. Good luck < !signature--> Today is the first day of the rest of my life. Me too, Devina...me too. BSC, thank you for the compliment - but I didn't mean to make you cry. Wizzard, thanks for the understanding - I'll take that over advice any day. Ruth, ((HUGS)) to you too. Thnx. Michael |

If this piece consisted of nothing more than the first line it would be an excellent poem. Great work, Michael. |

Beautiful imagery, beautiful poetry, but would 'twere not so forlorn. May you find a light in your darkness, and may it be soon. --Kess Full fathom five thy father lies, Of his bones are coral made, Those are pearls that were his eyes; Nothing of him that doth fade But doth suffer a sea-change Into something rich and strange... --William Shakespeare, from The Tempest |
