It wasn't our hearts travailing, < !signature-->it was the wine; freeing all the dust bunnies from beneath the beds of our memories until our wearied minds were swept clear. ~ ~ ~ It wasn't our love crying, it was the wine; hosing out all the ancient years from the corners of our hearts, until our sorrowed lives were purified. ~ ~ ~ It wasn't our tears flowing, it was the wine; cleansing all the blood-like stains left from the anguish we have known, until the losses lost their sting, for a night. ~ ~ ~ It wasn't our heartaches trembling, it was the wine; wasn't it, my dear. ...Living is ever like crossing rivers; finding a new life on each shore ... Oh wow, I don't know what to say to this...I've been there, that's all. This really struck a hard cord with me...I used to do this just to allow my overwhelming emotions to overflow, so I wouldn't drown in them...instead I nearly drowned in the alcohol! This brought a tear to my eye...thank you for sharing. It was sadly beautiful.... |

Yes I know what its like to question your feelings while under the influence. A great poem, it reads very well. Lucidity is the answer to all problems |

It wasn't our love crying, it was the bourbon; hosing out all the ancient years from the corners of our hearts, until our sorrowed lives were purified. ~ ~ ~ It wasn't our tears flowing, it was the bourbon; cleansing all the blood-like stains left from the anguish we have known, until the losses lost their sting, for a night. ----------------------- VERY emotional powerful piece...very well written...i relate to it well, take care, jm Do you live by the book, do you play by the rules Do you care what is thought by others about you If this day is all that is promised to you Do you live for the present, the future the past... tracy chapman |
