Of course this poem is in rough draft form....I'm sure most of you have figured out by now that almost nothing that I write goes beyond rough draft form...lol. Momentary Peace 3/23/00 Down to the water's edge I walk sitting down in the grass and rock where water meets land small splashes somehow attracted to my face The ice finally melted the snow gone the water's sound regained How quickly this picture seems to have faded in my mind during the winter months when water froze and snow covered the green surrounding this lake It seems like only yesterday that I came here to pray to find comfort in the entity which lies within these waters within all waters, according to the feeling that my mind relays The drips of tears sliding down my face remind me that I am here bring me back to this reality cause me to leave the world in which the water and I so closely intertwine Brown, black and blue the rough water's waves roll ever closer the light's reflections sparkling brighter here than ever on a diamond waves hitting rocks as soothing as a mother's soft coos It is here that my mind runs wild my soul is sett free and at the same time my whole being finally unifies Here I find my strength here I find my peace and here I find the only reality that could ever mean so much to me Divinity within water water within mind allowing my mind to momentarily be at peace...< !signature--> ---Sam Fleeting World "Thus shall ye think of all this fleeting world: A star at dawn, a bubble in a stream; A flash of lightning in a summer cloud, A flickering lamp, a phantom, and a dream." -from the Diamond Sutra, translated by : A. A serene setting you've painted for us. I love to sit by the waters edge and just relax and think about nothing. One of my favorite places in the world to be |

Serenity, I'm glad I could help you end your evening well, and I'm glad you enjoyed my poem. Hoot Owl, In truth I would sit, walk, play, anything and everything outdoors rather than indoors if I could, if my allergies would permit it and if school and work didn't need to be done indoors. I'm glad you enjoy nature as well... I think it's probably one of the most relaxing things on earth to sit by the water or to simply be outside. Thank you both for responding to my poem! I really appreciate it! And I'm sorry I haven't had a chance to respond to other people's poems the past couple of days, but I've been feeling sort under the weather... Again, thanks for responding! -molly aka sam Fleeting World "Thus shall ye think of all this fleeting world: A star at dawn, a bubble in a stream; A flash of lightning in a summer cloud, A flickering lamp, a phantom, and a dream." -from the Diamond Sutra, translated by : A.
