A Friend's Promise


In all of creation
There never has been
A kinder, more true soul
Than yours, my friend.

I have truly been blessed
To have ever known you at all
With you in my life,
I can fly and not fall.

So to you who have given
Such peace and joy to me,
From the depths of my soul
This I promise to thee.

I will always be faithful
To our friendship true
If  ever you need me
I will fly to you.

I will always be loyal
To the friendship we share
Always right beside you,
You will find me there.

I will always be truthful
In my actions and deeds
You have my highest respect;
You, I will not deceive.

I will always be giving
If  ever anything you need
Be it in my power
Then by my hand you shall receive.

I will always be understanding
When you need someone to listen
I will be your strength to lean on
And you I will never question.

This promise I make to you
With all my heart, unconditionally;
Never will our bond be broken,
I shall be your friend eternally.

I only want to say once more
It is the greatest gift known to man;
You have given me your friendship
And to you I give all that I am.
