My Silent Longing

Alone at night my mind wanders free
Wishing you here, here next to me
Alone I lye with darkness my "friend"
Engulfing my soul-- never my heart to mend.

My mind drifts away to that beautiful scene
Alone just us two on that shore so serene
Swinging with the breeze in the warm summer rays
Toes skimming grass till slumber drift us away.

In my silent longing your heart speaks my name
Yearning for "us" I call out just the same
Torture me not with silence once more
Speak to me my love, there remains an open door.

 "Love looks not with the eyes, but with the mind;
And therefore is wing'd Cupid painted blind." The Bard

Mariee~
This is just lovely.
Longing for that 'open door' to be entered.
This one came from your heart and it shows.

I have a longing myself.  Know the feelings you express.
Well done.
