Loss Princess of my heart must you doom my soul to dark toss me thru this dungeon door telling me you care no more. Once I was your knight full of grace now the darkest priest with dragons face. Darkest dungeons doomed to share lurking monsters everywhere. Still I wonder could you care as cockroaches keep crawling thru my hair. Dirty grime and filthy slime filling catacombs in my mind. Lured to every dark and musty tomb by this darkness my soul assumes. Maggots feeding on my withered skin as more dark dungeons suck me in. Hot scorching fires to bare and ashes falling everywhere leaving my countenance covered with despair. Ashes to ashes and dust to dust I'm losing hope and losing trust. Lo dark priest with dragons face you fell so hard you lost your grace. How can this dark priest survive his darkest dreary hour. Will his soul survive without her power? Journey Every knight must sometime pass thru a dark castle gate while seeking to regain his place. Darkness is not a knights intended fate...so go on knight don't hesitate. Only you can take this lonely journey to kill your demons and reclaim grace. Journey forward noble knight you must regain all trust. A sword is thrust into my hand as I throw off fear and let courage stand. A shining light now breaks away my darkest night. Oh, how that lovely light shines big and bright directly on this reborn knight. He is no longer that sad pathetic knight of love forlorn living in the shackles of her scorn. He has become a knight seeking a new fair maidens care and in return he will rescue this damsel from every dragons snare. A valiant journey to distant castles now begins...dragon fights..many sleepless nights. A knight that dares to fight each unfriendly knight with all his might. Much sorrow and blood will be shed til my fair princess nods her head. Flaming fire scorched red hair...burning passion everywhere. Blonde on blonde laying on sheets of crimson red..buckets of tears will be shed. Destination Til one bright and sunny day all his sorrow went away. He knew he had reached his final destination when a lovely maiden was watching him unaware and longed to lure him into her care. She has the blackest flowing silky hair...pure elegance reaching out to touch and share. I confess to adore this fair maiden now standing before me in her castle door. Sweet maiden now meet the knight destined to end all your lonely nights. I will be your finest friend...your loving knight til the end. Black flowing silky hair..grace and elegance to touch and share. Surely this Princess will be my fate and as a new day dawns another knight finds his place. James, you've written so much into this piece through imagery and emotion...longing, need, personal darkness, rejection, regret, resilience, growth...it is lovely, to be sure, and wonderfully told. ~ Claire |

James, Excellent!!! I love the references to the knights, dragons, etc. Your feelings come shining through. Friends are friend forever if the Lord's the Lord of them and a friend will not say never cause the welcome will not end. --Michael W. Smith |

Thank you busylisa I'm glad you enjoyed this. I appreciate your observations Claire..you have seen right into my heart. Thank you lone wolf for the wonderful comments. Glad you liked the knights and dragons and the feelings. I appreciate that Mistikman..I think it took a few hours..not the easiest writing I have done but very enjoyable to write and I was able to express a full range of my emotions. Actually a story of my life for the past one year or so. The only part still waiting to be fullfiled is my desire to be her finest friend. James |

James...what a tale you've told, but you needn't have written a poem for me |

Wow..I really loved this trilogy!!! Of course, I'm a sucker for anything with mythical fantasy, although normally I'm more into mermaids but knights and dragons and princesses are excellent too. I loved it..thanks for sharing it and I hope "your" story has a happily ever after ending Tess "What is a friend? A single soul dwelling in two bodies." -Aristotle |
