I sit down and stare
And what do I see?
A strong, young woman
Where a child used to be.

She looks oh so graceful
With a smile that is kind
You can see in her face
She has an intelligent mind.

It seems she knows where she's going in life
Not seemingly lost
She takes great chances
No matter the cost.

Suddenly, she sees me
She looks over with surprise
She must have felt my presence
I see it in her eyes.

We smile to each other
Like there's some secret that we share
Nobody else seems to know
But I know she's there.

As I reach out to this girl
My thoughts are all misled
For as I try to touch her
I feel a mirror instead.

I am too, I really thought I might have gotten a better response but oh well...this one I actually wrote last night when I couldn't sleep and I thought it wasn't that good...but by telling from the response I guess it was
