I love her still Peculiar how the mind will think, Riding durations wings of wink. Eccentric in the cast of where. The years that whirled from here to there. I find myself in sad contrite, A situation of sheer delight. That jumped the decades of my time, To bells that rang a youthful chime. And though I tried to leap the gap, I could not peel the years that wrap. And cloaked about my muscle tones. And fed upon my weary bones. And a tear fell inside of me, Invisible, she could not see. Commended her with senior face And held her hand in loving grace. But I'm content this bitter pill, I hold her hand and love her still. |

Sometimes the older we get on the outside, the younger we become on the inside.. It's a perk that compounds with each decade, I understand... .. Nice sentiments, my friend.. |

Sy, If we could fly the wings of time And go back to the yesterday We'd all be very disappointed In ourselves in every way For age has made us who we are A ripened mind, a weathered soul And yesterday we were content With youthful dreams, not love's true goal The golden years are golden hours Of golden love that's deep and true Your precious wife is still your goal But now so much a part of you I hate to hear you speak in groans Of weary bones and muscle tones But you and I know very well You can't keep up with Isabel!! Love ya Liz |

The years that wrap cannot ever be peeled without a great deal of pain. They are a part of us. Excellent writing, Sy. |

Sy, I am so touched by this poem...seems like I've said that before to you, but you see and say so clearly sometimes, it hurts. So, just thank you for sharing your words. |

Nan, You are wonderful and very dear to me. I understand what you say and love you for it. Sy Elizabeth, Your wonderful words have touched my heart. And what I say does not impart that I am gone in every way, for I expect you back some day. And what you say is very true. I am alive and not quite through. And there are things now I can do, much better then I used to do. The words you read are just a poem and I'm working on my trim and prim. Love Sy Balladeer,Thank you my friend for the excellent, I'll keep it a while and send it back with interest. Martie, It is my pleasure to share my words with you. *L* Hoot, I love Poe thank you so much for the compliment. *L* |
