Don't remember if I posted this before? Ode to a Toad On the edge of some water weeds, Below a pillowed moon. Sits a toad on a lily pad, Croaking, a lonely croon. Exuberant he spends the hours, Through the flower of night, He bloats and croaks his melody, With overripe delight. He calls out to the ladies fair, To hear his raucous tune. To lure them close and into mate. Below a pillowed moon. He sings rebeep in constant sweep, Calling passionately. He cannot stop or stay a note, Here lies his destiny. He croaks it from the diaphragm, Over and over, here I am. |

Sy 'S' Every night for the past 2 weeks .... those lovely toads have been croaking their hearts out , outside my window, from sunset to sunrise ... Now I know where that saying, "Horny as a toad." comes from!! .... oops! Wonderful poem, Sy .... .... L, Shannon |

Seymour~ Oh .... this was just ribet-ing ! Goad the toad to sing a thing. Just might get him mated. Calling from his lily pad aren't you elated? CROAK FOR BROKE! ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |

No horny toads here in Calfornia only them crickets. Crickets are cracked to think their legs can sweet-talk but because they believe they rub and rub and what they believe is... sort of the same...don't you think....croak! |

Seymour: After accidentally waking a poor toad up from his long winter's nap with my gardening yesterday, I had to read your poem. *G* And it's delightful... If you've posted it before, I must have missed it... Great job! And the responses have me ROFL... |

Now Horny Toad may come and go with his ribbbbits and his croaks but if he's looking around my pad for romance and soothing strokes he needs to move on down the pond with his flowers and Mt. Gay Rum. Just take himself and his best laid plans Far away to go and come! |
