Each day I came here
packing my pain
trying to ignore my fear;
hoping when I walked away
I wouldn't feel weak and afraid;
but whole again that day.
I would sit in the same place
absorbed in the beauty
and seeing God's grace;
knowing He intended
for me to be mended.
I cut off the brittle ends,
touched the velveteen rose,
and waited while new growth begins.
Wicked winter freezes
wearing on roses hoping to be;
So I cut and trim
just above the root;
so when the moon dims
and morning sprinkles its dew.
The garden and I
become new.

Thank you Denise....it was intended to be a "quickie" poem but ended up to be much more than I thought.

My garden is the place my soul feels most at peace ... no matter how troubled I might be at the time ....
Julie, wonderful imagery ... I can see you there, in the garden,tending the roses .... I love the message here too

Julie: I don't have a single rose out in my garden at the moment but I do have one beautiful tulip that's the most fantastic colour of deep peach and tomorrow morning as I watch it open, I shall think of you..
