Diamond Necklace

The Diamond necklace
that I gave to you my friend
is of a special cut, design, and make
it will decrystalize to black carbon
if not kept in your keepsake
Its glitter and sparkle will dim
and it will turn so grey and dull
if not kept in your possession
It's the tangible way of my sending
to you in Wodonga, my love and affection

You said to me that perhaps
you'll send it back and not accept it
because I'm in a different hemisphere
but I shan't accept it back I say
because it's meant only for you to wear
it must of costed much, you say,
I say yes it was an arm and a leg
and for you my other ones too anyday

I do not know if I will ever
see it hanging at your sweet neck
I know that many would think me foolish
for loving someone so far away
for we have not even yet met in flesh
though we both desire to someday
feelings in words, my heart in a mesh,
is just trying get out and through
and free itself so it may say
that I will always care for you

Sure sounds like love to me! I hope you two get the chance to be together! Who knows? Perhaps one hemisphere will become home for the both of you!
