I stand at the edge Of a steep dark cliff wondering what-now ? what-else ? what-if ? Crashing waves with all their charms wait for me with welcoming arms In my hand is one last chip Do I let my foot just slip ? Too much the gambler in my blood the thoughts come rushing in a flood "Life is a gamble Life is a game no roll of the dice is ever the same Weigh the odds Place your bets You havent seen The best as yet Sigh a prayer Roll the die Look the players In the eye You win sometimes And then you lose Dont stop playing by the rules Your luck is down So what else is new ? The chips have always been so few Yet you've held on to the play Won a few more coins got you through the day Just when you think you wanna call it quits Miss Fortune smiles and rattles your wits Chances are you havent yet found That final rush That thrilling round Wait a while hold the tips Dont plan yet to cash in your chips" Samy |

Samy Welcome to Passions!! This was a great poem...I really liked the theme. And I agree...the best in life is just around the corner. So put those playing chips away, for you won't be needing them. This was really good! And once again, welcome. Amy ~Live today as though it were your last but prepare for tomorrow as though it were here~ |
