Beauty lie in Perception I creep about in the dead of night, encroaching on the chosen life I rape all beauty it is my will, satisfaction is found in every kill I destroy with vengeance, all that lie within my path Unable, weak are they, to escape my deadly wrath Your attempts to be rid of me, a wasted jest I falsely disappear from sight, for a momentary needed rest Why ? It is how you perceive me ,within the hours of day light Ugly ,Evil, a mere unwanted sight This in turn makes me bitter, I become filled with hate Your ignorance enrages me to enact my deadly fate Who gave to you the right ,to judge me to be so vile? My strength and will are they not beauty ? Why do you force me, to live in such a retched denial? Why is the rose viewed as an object of beauty? For at the very moment it is picked, it begins than to die. To live they must be nurtured, for they are weak - you can not in this find lie Perhaps, I would act differently, if just for 1 minute you could view The soul that dwells within me ,see the beauty of my will See the grace that I posses ,understand my independence At the very least, show me kindness, or a moment of respect The beauty of the rose, will intern prick you, make you bleed Still ,you try and end my life, I hurt you not Do you not recognize me yet ,see me now, the ugly weed Why is it we see beauty only in the rose ? The weed the one we try to kill always comes back for it has a will unsurpassed , a strength within , yet we never see the beauty it possesses. Ugliness can disguise it self as beauty but true beauty no matter how it appears always remains within. Yet by most over looked. why? (c)Raven Legros |

I can not think of a more empassioned defence of the weed. It really made me think about what I consider to be beauty. I would love to sit and discuss this more but I have to plant the back 40... Ma, did they deliver the herbicide I ordered? INclan |

Hi Raven, This was wonderful you had me going there for a moment, then when you were talking about a weed. I think society plays a good part in what is beautiful one day to the next but this poem will stand the test of time as great. Cerenity |
