#6 - The Temptation of Desolation. Yet another day alone. The glass that seemed so full, Is now as empty as the soul which once filled it. The pain which seeps in to replace this void, Is it real? The underlying truth, The taunting of this trivial joy that keeps me alive? All material thoughts wither, Flaccid. Barely a fraction of their past. My love, I ask you, If you were here (or even walked this Earth), Would there even be a question, As to what the truth would be? I know I can’t deny the future, It is the only way forward. But this seems to be the way back so often, That I find the path of destruction, Too tempting, too comforting. If you were only here, This path, It wouldn’t exist? The tragedy of it is that nobody sees the look of desperation on my face. Thousands and thousands of us, and we're passing one another without a look of recognition. |

***Enola, How do you do it? Everytime I read one of your poems I am knockedbover by your talent. Your work is fantsastic...so full of intelligence and depth. As long as you are still submitting on here I will always be reading. ![]() I am not a preacher, I just speak the world as I see it. |

Thank you a thousand times! The tragedy of it is that nobody sees the look of desperation on my face. Thousands and thousands of us, and we're passing one another without a look of recognition. |

I'm glad you enjoyed it. When are you going to put another one of your poems on? The tragedy of it is that nobody sees the look of desperation on my face. Thousands and thousands of us, and we're passing one another without a look of recognition. |

'The force is what binds us and calls us and makes us whole . But beware the darkside, it is the easy road, but in the end it only leads to evil and destruction, The force will be with you - always .'- (Master Yoda) . Remember these wise words from a great master and the paths become more defined and it is a matter of sticking with it . Nice poem, i liked it loads, I'm having difficulty keeping up with your poetry, you always seem to have a new and equaly as good poem up every time I look . L.Of.L. Tom . With poetry as your weapon - express your iner feelings so all may carry your sorrow, united as one . |

Wow, I never expected replies like this. Janet Marie - thank you, although I am equally in awe at your work! The tragedy of it is that nobody sees the look of desperation on my face. Thousands and thousands of us, and we're passing one another without a look of recognition. |

This was very moving, your pain was very evident. I loved this but I do hope this isn't a real pain or if it is that you have found a way to deal with it. Thank you for a wonderful piece. David2 ![]() |

David - Most of the time I can cope with it, but sometimes it's too difficult. Ignoring the problem just makes it worse, but I can't see what else to do - there's no point in giving up on life completely. The support I get here is amazing and I really value it. Thanks for your reply. I'm you enjoyed the poem, I felt pretty satisfied with it myself once I'd finished it. The tragedy of it is that nobody sees the look of desperation on my face. Thousands and thousands of us, and we're passing one another without a look of recognition. |
