I know there is not ought for me- In this life, or the world to come. The longing which I hold for thee Does still my heart, and strike me dumb. The memories which grip my mind Do chill me as I contemplate That love I once declared divine- Could, Oh, so quickly, turn to hate. The glow I saw within your eyes When I once gave you your desires It still abides, though you despise- That flame burns now with hellish fires. The lips which sweetly spake at night, And vowed allegience, now withal- To sting me as an adder’s bite… And burn as bitter as the gall. Ah, how I miss thee, lovely one! And speak your name with every breath- I’ll not know peace till life is done, And I embrace, mine ally, Death. Visit My Home Page http://www.geocities.com/montcogunslinger/HomePage.html |

Very sad one, Gunslinger, wonderfully written, of course! Denise |
