The Fall Of St. Michael Torrents of rain searing the sky, All heaven heralding the cry. By the vista ever riven In fall of the unforgiven! A sword of light laid to the side Of gleaming scales tinged with Pride. Where in the aftermath lay he, Demon slayer of God's decree. Now fallen by the tempting lure Of lust in look of eyes impure. By wings, flailing in agony, No more would God recognize he. Nor angelic flight serve him, Nor heaven grace eyes now grown dim. No deed come ‘fore there save his cause In falling to hell's outstretched claws. Heretofore, forever after, Relishes Satan in laughter. Sender of the succubus lies That lay lust to archangel eyes. A moment his, ever to savor By Michael's own sword - come the favor Returned to God by swipe of head. All heaven weep, St Michael's Dead. Michael, This is vastly deep, and quite frightening to say the least. I am hoping that I read this wrong the two times I read it, cause to me this one seems your at the bottom of the pit and my heart bleeds if that's the case. You never need to fall that deep with friends here all willing to catch you and bring you back. Satan can only win if you let him win, you have the power to throw him out and let God's hand guide you to freedom. |

Magnificent! I hope you realize this is one of your best..wait! I say that all the time! So if this and everything else you write is your best, do you have a 'worst' or a 'so-so'? I bet you don't! |

Demon slayer of God's Decree Thou shalt rise from ashes Thou'll see That which Thou think caused Thine fall Behold, it's making Thee the strongest of all We shall not weep, for Thou art not dead "The Master" still counts on his 'Slayer of heads'..! Heal well Michael..! 'Chilling' work BTW.. "No one was ever ruined from without; The final ruin comes from within.".....Amelia E. Barr |

Dear micheal again, Sorry for my confoundedness about this poem It overwhelmed me a bit...It's very deep. I couldn't ever know what compelled you to write it. It must be something very personal and disturbing to you. All the same...I just wish you well. From Poeminister |

St. Michael only stumbles he never falls May the world hug you today, With it's warmth and love. I pray it whispers a joyful tune in your heart, That tell you there is a friend sitting in another corner of the world, Wishing you well and wishing you love...... ~Isis~ (Goddess - Sovereign of the Spirit) |

Uh, I realize it's a little late for a disclaimer, But I sincerely want to apologize for any concerns over my well being this poem has drawn. I am writing an 8 mini poem Saga wherein St. Michael will ultimately fight seven demons, (deadly sins), - Wrath, Envy, Pride, Lust..etc. Chris will be applying art work as well, (He paid me to mention that!). Anyhow, this was just an excerpt of that come's near the end of the Whole of the poem. I happened to catch a muse early this morning while at Chris's house and ran with it. Though it is somewhat an acknowledgement of how I've handled my own inner demons in life, I didn't think it would draw such a concern and hadn't really looked back in on it till now. Oh, and just for those of you really really need to know, yes - St. Michael will rise once more. Thank you all for the replies. michael |

See Michael.. they all know better than to listen to you when you bad-mouth me. EVERYONE knows you're just jealous!!! In all sincerity, I feel honored to have had you ask for me to accompany these pieces with my artwork. I only hope I can bring them up to par with the incredible passion and severity of your writing! I'll do my best not to let you, or your work down! And to this... you already know I think it rocks! It's chock full of power and pain! Your usage of "common" phrasality, (is that a word???) mixed into a quite uncommon and exceptional poem leaves me breathless in awe! A masterpiece I anxiously await my friend! |

Now THIS is what I like to wake up to in the morning ... Poetry most rare, Mr Michael sir, but I do have one little nitpick -- as was said in a previous reply, this has all the makings of an epic poem -- and thus I must say that the way you ended it "St. Michael's Dead" is a little sudden for my taste. Not in the flavor of an epic at all. Of course at this juncture you might ask: "Well then, Ms. Smarty Pants, how could I rewrite it?" Unfortunately, my answer would have to be "Um -- I dunno." It's kinda early right now, and I don't thik well in the morning ... but I just thought I'd point that out and see what your brain could do with it (if you even decide to heed my opinion -- LOL) Humbly, (yeah right) --Me Full fathom five thy father lies, Of his bones are coral made, Those are pearls that were his eyes; Nothing of him that doth fade But doth suffer a sea-change Into something rich and strange... --William Shakespeare, from The Tempest |
