Haunting Me |

I can hear your lonely footsteps Down the hallways of my mind. No freedom from your presence… It seems that I can find. If I can’t have you with me- Why can’t you set me free? Instead of your old memories- Which keep on haunting me? You’re there each night beside me Yet when I reach, I find…. My bed is cold and empty… I’m about to lose my mind. I sense your presence near me, Each time I start the car… I almost reach to hold you… Then remember where you are. I set two plates for dinner… When I sit and watch T. V.— I often say, “Did you see that”? Why are you haunting me? Visit My Home Page http://www.geocities.com/montcogunslinger/HomePage.html |

seems we often have no control on letting go. the heart has a mind and memory of its own... something you captured so well in this poem. |

Wonderful, Slinger~ I particularly liked ... 'I can hear your lonely footsteps Down the hallways of my mind.' So very well done, my friend. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |

Excellent lines here, 'slinger. This could be a good C&W song with little work. |
