Cataclysmic < !signature-->~*Marge Tindal*~ You came rolling in like thunder from out across the bay Struck me with the forces commanding me, Stay! Bolts of you lit up my life again and again and again Shelter from the storm I seek before the thunder begins Loudly resounding thunderously clapping Slammed me Damn me for feeling this way Slashing, smashing my heart upon the shore Billowing, blowing no more am I knowing where to hide from the storm Moving off to the west the storm is receding now I am left alone, bereft the thunder rolls Tossed and turned nowhere to land storm of passion for just one man the thunder rolls I watch the thunderheads building I cower in the memories of how you shook my world You came rolling in like thunder from out across the bay rocked me to the core then moved away the thunder rolls ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] [This message has been edited by Marge Tindal (edited 03-11-2000).] |

Wow, Marge! This is really powerful! I got caught up in the words and the tempo of my heart raced with the rising tempo of your lines and it really was actually a storm-like experience. Whew! You need to pass out tranquilizers with poems like this one!!!! |

Balladeer~ I appreciate your comments. To take the reader through the storm is the quest of this poet. Sharing an experience with you is so nice. Seymour~ Now to know that I rocked your boat too, makes me one happy little sailor. Thank you. Love you BOTH .. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |

My heart rolls as the thunder in this and my tears become the rain. My minds deep thoughts providing the crashing and because it lives inside of me....it grows out of control. My ears hear only the sounds of this storm deaf from the wind. I am afraid to let anyone in because I fear that if they can't stop the storm either....I will be forever lost. I guess you can tell that I am living this.....and so strange that you could write it.....as I try to hide it |

David~ Yes, I know you are living in a tempest-tossed arena right now ... you can't hide it, my friend. I'm not sure what compelled me to write this one ... I only know it came 'rolling in like thunder'. It's hard to realize that the storm eventually moves out and leaves the serenity of starlit nights and smile-filled days ... but it does, I promise you. Until that time comes for you, David ... I send you an umbrella of friendship to shelter you from the ravages of the storm. Love and hugs, my friend. ~*Marge*~ DarkAngel~ Thank you for the excellent. I am so pleased that you found it so. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |

Dear Marge, This is an excellent poem! Strongly felt. From Poeminister "...no single sound too rude Upon thy slumber shall intrude, Our thoughts, our souls- O God above! In every deed shall mingle, love." --Edgar Allan Poe (from Serenade) |

This one really strikes home with me and you will see why in a second. This reminds me of a poem I wrote two years ago, not long before I left my abusive husband. I'm posting that poem here for you. Unsettled There is no calm before the storm. long before the silence is broken; the clouds set in. I find myself trembling in the darkness, waiting for the first outburst. Why must it always be this way? I can shut my eyes to the lightning; but the thunder still roars; and my tears fall like rain. Long after the storm has passed... The effects remain. |

Hoot~ Your words struck a chord in the heart of one who, although I never suffered abuse, has such compassion for those who have. Bless you that you were able to free yourself from it's clutches. Does the thunder ever roll away? I hope it has for you. Love to you, my friend. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |

Marge...that's a good question you ask. No, I don't think it ever rolls totally away, but rather grows more distant in time. I think if one listens close enough, they can still hear its sound years down the road. I don't necessarly consider that a bad thing, it serves as a reminder of where I've been and where I never wish to go again. Although I would never wish my life on another, I do not regret it for it has made me who I am and I truly like the person I've become through everything. Hugs Ruth |

Hoot~ Can't disagree with your thinking there. Know what? I like who you are too, as do many others in your life. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |
