Alone, Crashing through ominous waves, timbers creaking under the strain windwipped canvas bellows out in protest The ship struggles.... Men aboard wipe salt spray from their faces holding taut hawsers, slackening others moving about on fragile life lines torrents of water fighting their grasp The captain holds the wheel the wooden snake twisting in his grip Into the wind he steers his lady lest she be torn assunder by mighty Poseidon White crests rise in protest to the mightily surging ship only to fall into eddies and swiftly fade away |

I love any poem along this line! Bravo! Many of us have been inspired to write of the ocean and ships tossed! I am thoroughly enjoying all the nautical writing, and this is no exception! Splendid job sir! |
