Just another ordinary fog Orange skies at night From the flames as they rise, Such a strange and eerie glow Begging me to follow Driving for miles, Lost in silent, nostalgic thought Just driving, and knowing naught But what the wind will allow Saving me somehow Still, the fiery glow And it feels good to be alive On my own, breathing in the night Passing through my old hometown My head spinning round and round Been such a long time Since I touched the heart of life Or even lived my life Chasing those far off dreams Gone forever it seems I’ve forgotten how it feels To enjoy fresh air again Just driving nowhere Not knowing where I am led Not caring, just living instead This is a night I’ll remember How the air felt so good tonight And everything seemed to fit just right This all feels like the perfect night Just because I feel alive Tonight |

Said it once, and I'll say it again. You amaze me at how you write exactly what I've felt/experienced before...I do believe you are ME in a man's body! ROFL at the idea, I know! When I start to go crazy, nothing does me more good, than to just get outside somehow, out of the house, and just breathe in the air around me....deep and crisp. It does something to help clear my sanity, what's left of it. LOL Driving with the window down, hair blowing, does it for me...especially when the air is cool....glad I'm not the only one. FABULOUS read. |

Thanks Fatal Femme, that is the best thing in life(just about), fresh air and a little solitude. I hope I am really me in my body though...it would just be weird otherwise LOL |

Been such a long time Since I touched the heart of life Or even lived my life Chasing those far off dreams Gone forever it seems --------- Jer, I LOVE that verse... and the imagery and feeling this poem gives off...I love driving in fall on country roads looking at the horses in the fields...and at night when the walls close in...to just go around the block a few times with the CD player blasting, just to clear my head...MB20 of course..(smile) still stalking you, jm ps, i'm glad your in your own body too..LOL you're really alone at last... you're bored and fading fast, if it's true you'll fall from the past all you'll have to do is ask you'll feel but never be you want and always need price you pay for wanting to see will you have all you've ever dreamed... robin wilson |

This is so peaceful, so calming. As it happens, driving is one of my favorite ways to unwind, too. And, naturally, the music depends on the mood. Right now I believe I've got Buffett's "Living and Dying in 3/4 Time" in the CD player and Peter Murphy's "Cascade" in the tape player. Lovely poem, JML... ~ Claire |

How do we get like this, I wonder? Life just piles on until we don't see it's beauty. But this poem is an excellent reminder to do just that. Corinne |
