A Kiss For Your Soul 3/8/00-TODAY!!! Dedicated To Grandma G. rough draft-just written Grandma, To hear of you like this brings tears unto my eyes Remembering how you looked those months will always make me cry But you pulled through you dear sweet soul You lived through trial and turmoil Yet now to hear you wish you'd died to watch your soul recoil... I can't express the sadness that pressed down upon my being When o'er the phone I heard the words "Come quickly now, she may be dying" The crash has hurt your body, dear and tries to hurt your soul But Grandma please hold tight the strength of all our love and light Dear Grandma, now you've made it home you're back out on the farm Please let it be that now you know that half the battle's won I know it's wishful thinking that you'll be just as you were But Grandma dear, please PLEASE don't let these last years turn a-blur Please help your mind remember what is was that brought you through it Please let yourself live in our love please let us help you through this I know your mind has wandered quite afar from where you thought it And I know your life is different now I know you feel quite humbled But Grandma we accept you now just as we always have We accept all that's occurred in you and all that makes you sad We love you dear and honestly there's nothing that can change that So Grandma please remember how to love yourself and embrace it........... ---a poem that will probably never be given to the person to whom it is dedicated... Real good poem you wrote today. I think my grandpa lost his desire to live a bit before he died, he was in the war, he had open heart surgery a few times, he was in pain, and then he had quadrouple by pass surgery and after that he wasent the same.... But before that he was very caring, so this reminds me of my grandpa. Thank you for sharing this poem. ((gives you a hug)) |
