I joined in celebration--
spirit-life-energy--
(and walked away unscathed...)
Queen For A Day--
new friends of old paid homage--
and oh, how I ran
joyously to greet them.

No grin is wider now.
No arms can hug harder--how
can i begin
to describe the rhythm
of a day so full
ribbons and bows--
thoughts never supposed...
so much of 'me' found--once forgotten.
Profound truth realized:
I am not 'just here,'--I am begotten.

I found, today, a piece of sacred.
Life/breath, love, death--
no emotion calibrated.
(Heart-in-pain--
   love's refrain,
ever just a beat away...)

But serenity learned to smile today.
(and oh i am so grateful...)

Today, I celebrated.

I just LOVED the beat this had!  Very catchy, and made it easy to read!  You have reason to celebrate my dear!  So glad you found some smiles in your day....that is always good!     I just read this again, and I know now what i like about it...it seems to *fall* down the page as I read it, because of the beat and the way you broke the sentences down.....great style!

Danny--thanks "dawlin'"still smiling today.
Sure feels good feeling good again.

pFF---such high praise coming from YOU! I
admire your work very much--I don't
post replies as much as I'd like tho,
(you usually have so many replies, that
my slug of a computer loses you before
       i can get there...)

But thanks guys--a small tribute to Mardi Gras...the best medicine for depression ever
invented.

What a feeling of being where you are accepted and joyed at the same time.  This made me feel so happy inside.  Overjoyed and left with a smile    Thanks

Very awesome of a poem, just like pFF said, the poem is very catchy!  It's great seeing so much 'happy' coming out of people!

Great Job!

Still at the mardi gras, serenity?  This is a wonderful poem.  Learning to smile can sound so simple but to me - that's a monumental event.  I am so happy for you.
