Treading at the edge of twilight, My soul mirrored within the dark. Broken dreams hold no light, When shadows leave their mark. But what can one do when enslaved? Cold thoughts whisper in the fog, My heart strangled with emotion. I sense you through the smog, And I flutter with devotion. But can my tattered soul be saved? Doubt pulls me under inky seas, The tide rising with the pain. Rays of starlight harshly tease, But little joy do I gain. Why is simple contentment unreachable? Sorrow misted within my eyes, And I reach out with all of me. Somber are the greying skies, And alone is how I may forever be.
