I know alot of poeple have written about this subject but I just wanted to share this one Imposing upon me like an unwelcome visitor Not welcome in my time of sleep SLEEP what is that, I do not know Ominously it takes me over like a dark evil Making it's way into my night and Never letting me find solace in rest Instead I'm plagued by restlessness And my unwelcome visitor is allowed to roam free < !signature--> Keep all the windows of your mind open Anne Rooks [This message has been edited by tracie66 (edited 03-04-2000).] |

Well, I've always said sleep is highly overrated...LOL Glad to see I'm not the only one up at this hour....LOL I love your perspective of Sleep, too. Great poem, Tracie. Michael |

Well, lately seems me and the bed don't hit it off to well, I feel I'm fighting it all night long just to be comfortable, and I wake up with a rat's nest for a hairdo. Great poem you described Insomnia well. |

Tracie~ Great descriptive view. I like the acrostic ... brings focus to the event. I don't mind the insomnia as long as the muses keep me company. Nice job, gal. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |

That's when I give up and get out of bed and start writing... thanks for reading ~~~ INclan thanks for your reply ~~~ Marge My dear friend I don't mind the Insomnia really and the Muses can keep me company anytime but it's when that darn alarm clock sounds at 6.30am that I hate cause an Hr before that is usually when I'm ready to go into a deep sleep Doh! don't ya just hate that. LoL my friend ~~~ Denise thanks for reading, I'm so glad you don't suffer from it. Yes it is so aggrivating at times...LoL ~~~ Cerenity-1 I can relate to that, the sruggle is a torment isn't it.. I guess i will give up sleeping to as I just have a very bad dream last night but your poem is still beautifully done Thank you The ability to describe life with words is similar to painting a picture; both can be powerful tools. |

Oh yeah....I know I know I know...and then when you FINALLY get to sleep you get lots of lovely nightmares just to make everything peachy... hehe - ruefully. K 'Writing sharpens life; life enriches writing' Sylvia Plath |

Christopher, severn and Ruth I think just about all here at passions relates to this, some more often than others. I guess that it's better for the words and rhyme's to be going through my head at night when I'm really not doing much else (APART FROM TTYING TO SLEEP)than during the day when I have to really concentrate on my work. ~~~ Danny thanks for your reply I'm so glad to be in the teen poetry forum when I get the chance and I know you're doing a great job in there giving encouragement and praise, It's wonderful Keep all the windows of your mind open Anne Rooks |
