Of Precious Peony This petal is soft like the closed eye of a child a pink symmetry that curls and holds itself with the fragile purity of your sweet thought that quieted this dove in heralded morning coo and left a peaceful open glory. Your love is in this vase so gently placed in crystal orb upon this table for me to spy with glow of cheek the color of this precious peony would my youth regain for this pleasure is real and surely my jaded mirror lies. I will sift this softening into times bowl then I will thee hold in dance of delicate folding and curl against you with the hum of a smile where grace is a glance that time cannot measure. In the dew of little things, the heart finds its morning and is refreshed. (ee cummings) |

Martie, This is very very beautiful, so full of love. But what pray tell is a peony. Parker |

Oh, poor Parker--you have not seen a peony--like a rose but not as elegant, soft and sweet like an open rose--they are lovely. |

Hay Sweet Lady, I loved this especially "Your love is in this vase so gently placed in crystal orb upon this table for me to spy with glow of cheek the color of this precious peony." I must admit that I thought you were talking about penny's (quite a different picture) the mind can really do funny things. Nice surprize..! I love the line "like the closed eye of a child" - who would have thought of a flower petal in that way! And how perfect! And also the "sifting this softening into time's bowl". Lovely poem. |

Martie~ Surely such a lovely verse. You sought my attention ... and captured it. 'with glow of cheek the color of this precious peony would my youth regain for this pleasure is real and surely my jaded mirror lies.' A keeper for sure ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ noles1@totcon.com |

Martie, If Sy reads it twice, it is an outstanding piece of poetry. And it is so pleasant to read, full of love and warmth and softness. A memorable poem, in my book Liz |
