The VisitSwift sorrow, do not bid me well And tramp across my step Your stealth and madness steeped in blood As in sleep's escape you've crept I cannot bear to raise my head As closer within you draw Leave out my rooms through morning's frost Tarnished tears will never thaw For weakened hearts cannot be cured And softness full restored To love, at lengths beyond one's reach, From whence all blood has poured No need to hesitate, half turned, In witness to what you've wrought Your visit's come full to its closing now With nary a battle fought Claire |

Very nice meadowmuse. I was wondering how you can write like this with so much emotion and feeling. Are you going thru a hard time right now or is this feelings from a past situation? I'm only wondering how you become so inspired to write such beautiful poetry. James |

Sad, this is so, but you thread your words with such beauty that even tears smile. |

Tis not the wood that makes a home, nor words that make a poem, A special magic must be part, Within must rest a heart. Me thinks I have just read a poem. |

Seymour...thank you for the nod of encouragement. Dark Angel...thank you for reading this and for thinking it lovely. James...Thank you for reading and for the sincerity of your question. Sometimes when I write, I do draw on feelings and observations from the past, though this particular piece was written just a little while ago, from the moment. Thank you, James. Martie...what a sweet thing for you to say...thank you. Mike...I'm glad youthinks. Thank you. Claire |

Claire~ The piece exudes the pain you've felt. 'No need to hesitate, half turned, In witness to what you've wrought Your visit's come full to its closing now With nary a battle fought' Hugs, hon. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |

No need to see the reason why No need to imagine Only the need to read and know that you were hurt Makes this heart weep What a poetry and the words you selected L. & S.P. The ability to describe life with words is similar to painting a picture; both can be powerful tools. |

I have to agree with Liz. There is a softness, but it's one that seems born of a hard, unflinching view and experience. If that made any sense; I'm exhausted. Anyway, I enjoyed much. Mike |

Another beautiful poem Claire When the the day comes that you open the window and breathe the fresh air ... listen to the birds sing and savour the drift of spring flowers ... then write us another poem with the same intensity ... we can all use the smile it would bring Rex}<{{{{o> |

Hoot Owl...just knowing that this piece evoked a favorable response from one whose work I respect as much as yours says enough for me. Thank you. Michael...thank you so much. I was hoping the emotion would be as real to the reader as it was to the writer. Rex...I am looking forward to that day with pulsing heart, Rex. Thank you for your kind encouragement. ~ Claire |
