Sunset As a sunset settles softly, On what has been my place, And I let the last golden rays, Just drift across my face. ~ I sit and sadly wonder, A waiting for the night, The twists and turns of life, Of the things we just can’t fight. ~ The path we’re left to wander, From beginning to the end, How much we can control, What we can and can’t defend. ~ We want from life so much, The things we wish and dream, We’re not always in control, No matter what it seems. ~ The good things in life, That are dealt to you by fate, Often have a price, Or require that you must wait. ~ But patience is a virtue, Brought about by time, To earn a special gift, To taste what is divine. ~ So in my dreams we will soar, Across the nighttime sky, Our hearts will feel no pain, And we’ll never have to cry. ~ I’ll sit awaiting sunrise, For the dawning of the day, When we can be together, And chase the night away. |

The setting of the sun, a cause for reflection. You've done it well. I like this very much. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |
