Pair Bonding The season for pair bonding is short and tumultuous full of toil…. building nests and rearing young a season not for crippled birds As with most seasons though it passes quickly and for the broken winged bird the flight to warmer climes is more of an escape than perhaps rejuvenation. Yet when warmth returns and the time for pairs bonding resumes this mourning Dove will watch the sky for the erratic flight caused by that healed broken wing and remember a pair bonded season of so long ago. Beautifully sad..but what if that bird has a permanently disabled wing? Who bonds with someone unable to fly with love's migration? |

You have a remarkable way of leaving a poem open to many different interpretations. Like 'deer' says, more than just birds does this speak of. Wonderful Robert! Miss you around here. |

Nice writing. Like people in a crowd looking for a familiar face, for comfort. |

You have so delicately expressed just what lies in the bittersweet visions of remembering. I do like this, Robert. Claire |

thanks all of you on this. my e-mail just showed all these responses....I was wondering where everyone was!!! You know I heard that doves mate for life... and when I see a dove alone I wonder what happened to its mate....perhaps a broken wing severed their relationship....no fault of their own. Robert |

A very nice poem you did there RobertB Doves are so special The ability to describe life with words is similar to painting a picture; both can be powerful tools. |
