He looks at me - and quickly bolts What has he done now? Maybe he just wants a drink, Or perhaps a little chow. He begs for one more cookie That done, it's time to play He's running wildly through the house, Gathering speed along the way. Suddenly he's at the door I guess he wants some fresh air, Now he's grabbed that little brush He wants me to comb his hair. What's he doing now, I ask As he keeps grabbing my hand Looking at me with those big eyes I just wish I could understand. At last he decides to settle down And curls up at my feet, on the floor It's then the doorbell always rings And we start this routine once more. A hundred pounds of loyalty Who snorts at times like a hog, A cherised member of the family Our clumsy, old big yellow dog. |
