        What monkeys do

Deep within a verdant green,
I chanced upon a primal scene,
A monkey with a busy head,
Making faces as he fed.

Teething seeds of gourmet choice,
With munching sounds in muffled voice.
When suddenly he faced my face,
And stared at me in stern embrace.

He moved a move of ballet charm,
Released his leg and empty arm,
Held his tail around the tree.
And then the bastard pissed on me.

He lacked a little savoir faire
Maybe he didn't give a care.
I was annoyed to say the least.
And swore out loud you little beast

But monkeys do what monkeys do
And I am through with the monkey zoo.

Hi Seymour,

First you speak of ballet charm and then the surprise!  Enjoyed this read.

!
Amidst all the traditional, sentimental heart-throbbers posted tonight--what a totally unique and witty piece!
I bet tons of middle/high school students wish that editors would throw a few more fun poems like this in their english textbooks!

I say the name and went on in
I read and wondered what was wrong with him
His style of writting pose changed a bit
Something finally did click
Sy has a funny site I see
Well I like the poem and its fantasy
As always I was hanging on the screen
For this one is a good scream lol

Good thing is i wrote about Eagles and not Monkey business. lol
Well I guess it's doesn't matter where it comes from, Or?

The ability to describe life with words is similar to painting a picture; both can be powerful tools.

Sy - I've seen those monkeys in the wild down there in Lauderdale - in that wooded area right beside the Breakers....hehe...

and Anne - You're absolutely right...LOL - One of the reasons I started writing poetry was because I didn't like the quality of the poems they're putting in our Literature books...

Didn't you know you should never stand under a monkey? Your comic juices are flowing. This is hilarious!

Little pieces such as this
leave me with a delightful bliss
and my grin goes on all day
this, nothing more, can I say.

Still grinning...
