Emotionally, I wasn't feeling so well when I wrote this so, I hope that y'll can feel my emotions in this poem. I tried to create a better flow for my rhymes because, Liz made realize that they needed it. I hope y'll like the poem. What a poverty-stricken year! It's a year where you're either on the streets begging for a dime, or trouble-making and committing crimes. In this money-driven world, where evil unfurls, if you got dough, then anything goes. Money is only illegal, if you got caught by the right people. Look at O.J. Simpson, He only won his case because, he had enough money. And today, he's still a big-shot celebrity, while we still ponder about Nicole & Ronald Goldman. These days, I'm tempted to be bad because, there's plenty of things I wished I had but I won't be because, I rather be a somebody, than a nobody. My fellow sister and brothers, need to stop putting down one another because the only thing you get with that, is a sharp knife in your back. Times is so hard, that criminals are turning themselves in because, they're tired of commiting sins and staying locked-up in prisons. In prison, smoking and selling drugs, depending on one another for love, still goes, right under the man's nose people, anything goes. My brothers need God because, these prisons are too overcrowded and nobody's doing a damn thing about it! Times I swear, is too getting too hard! We need a change because, too much brothers wearing stripes and smoking too much crackpipes. It's time for a new life! In the streets, anything goes because, capitalism is pimps and h*es. And it's sad because, in this world of greed, if you struggling or want more, then anything goes! Nathan |

Nate, This poem is the bomb. I can relate to everything your saying here. It seem the more money you have, the more you get away with. You lose all morals and virtue and they really don't care how they treat people. The flip side of it is once you have money, people you never seen before or when you were hard up, all of a sudden have their hands out. Maybe I'm bitter right now, but you are so on point. I definitely feel you on this one. Even more so today. Anyway keep writing and bring forth that word. Your sista - Leah |

Thank you Shirleah, this is one of the reasons why I write poems. I want to reach out and touch people and I don't care if their white, black, hispanic, or any other race. As long as I've taught someone a value about life, I feel much better. You should channel that anger into a poem called, "Biter". I know that it would make a good one too. 'The loveof money is the root of all evil.' Just as true today as when this was written in the bible. Anyone with eyes can see it all around today. You have captured it well in your poem, Nate. Hi Nathan, Too true a muse put into verse. Seems when not feeling well, the rose-colored glasses come off and you get down to it. A pleasure to read.
