Tribute to Clair de Lune

Softly, tenderly, swaying in the midnight’s soft breezes,
comes to me the haunting melody and gently eases
my soul into a symphony of flowing rhapsody
as the moonlight’s sonata sings only to me.

Embracing me, holding me tenderly, stroking every sense
I lie without moving, the haunting melody grows intense
and enters every fibre of my very being
giving me a foresight which will go from you unseeing.

Refrains are hungry for understanding the note’s touch,
nay, I do not miss you so very much
when music’s enrapture traps my very core,
but with the passing of the melody, I will then miss you even more.

I would shy from responding to this for my ignorance (I don't know who Clair de Lune
is)...but the obvious impact she has had on you through music I can relate to so well.
A wonderful tribute, Sunshine...now I'll be off to the record store....LOL

Let me know what you think of the piece when you return from the store, Michael, and then, see how close [or off base] I was with my interpretation...

This is exquisite Sunshine and another favorite written by you, to add to my quickly growing list...

A soul that writes from the heart and shares it, truly gives a gift extraordinaire!

Lucky me I guess, I know the sonata “Claire de Lune”
Did want to say I know that tune (lol)
The poem is enchanting close
Makes the sonata bloom like a red…red rose
I like the way the word are lined
Felt…when reading it…>>divined

Delicately crafted, this piece of writing.

Verses gingerly trickle, my mind delighting.

Echoes recapitulate symphonic soundings.

Sunshine's sonnets flow, with gifts abounding.

Sunshine, wonderful poem!
Debussy wrote "Clair de Lune" at only twenty years of age. Inspirational, indeed, and you've orchestrated an elegant accompaniment to his composition. (It's always been one of my favorite Debussy pieces, along with "Arabesque" and "Nocturnes.") For a lovely soundbyte of Claude Debussy's "Clair de Lune,"
click here. Scroll about halfway down the page, where you will find the link. It's a midi file, but surprisingly well done.

Sunshine,
I'm becoming a number one fan of this poet. This is a wonderful poem, the whole concept of it, and then to be so well written.
It has everything. It's great!

Denise, Meadowmuse, Elizabeth - I am simply overwhelmed at your comments, and "thank you" doesn't convey the feelings I have as I take in the messages you have sent.  I gratefully appreciate your having come in to read this piece.< !signature-->

Sunshine-

What beautiful memories you stirred with this lovely poem.
I became enchanted with Claire de Lune the first time ever I played it.
The richness of the melody quickly became one of my favorites of DeBussy's works.
Thanks for tickling the ivory of my mind.
