Secret love of mine

I thought I had gotten him out of my mind.
But I realized I had left my fragile heart behind.
The thought of him just makes me well up in tears.
Especially when he gets chummy with our female peers.
I couldnt get over him,no matter how hard I tried.
I couldnt stop wishing for him to be by my side.
Loving someone is harder than I thought.
Especially when that someone loves me not.
It's painful to be so near,yet so far away.
When all I want is to hear him say,
That he loves me too with all his heart,
and that we'd never have to part.
But life doesnt always turn out the way you want it to be.
For now,I could only love him silently.
Maybe one day,I'd get the courage to
say those three little words to him.
But till then,
He'd just be a secret love of mine.
