Were I to die
would she shed a tear?
Therein lies the question
and passion's greatest fear
Answers wither away
beneath heated scrutiny
allowing logic sway
to interfere with affairs
best left to the heart
Though bereft of certainty
with reason
torn apart
each passing season
my own counsel do I keep
and for the loss of light I weep
Terror-quiet
breathing lost amid
the stalking of my fright
I see not
the author of my fear
but feel its kiss
perceive my mind
I am naked
alone with myself
and the horrors
of the lifely way
I smile and gaze
with guileless eyes
and inside bleeding dry
that cold stalking touch
comes only from
realising
     knowing
                   I
am alone
Loneliness croons
a softly seductive song
meant to lure and doom
those who revel in wrong
and entomb
crucified minds
with impure and fetid designs
and from the sorrow
of an aching
a desperation of loveless
sight
new fire brightly
colours over me
How to speak of lonely
when all is hued
with welcoming?
This alone-girl
hears and reaches
voices calling
slow throats soothing
her deafened mind
and she learns
alone
        is not
                 her final
fate...

This is WONDERFUL! I love the ending of this poem because it is so true. I feel uncertainty pulling at one end and a sunbeam tugging at the other. You two obviously understand one another. How wonderful for two talents to write together this way

What a statement made here!  I cannot believe that the two of you did not receive more response to this ...

What I thought when I began reading this was nothing like the way it ended -- I love the twist in the final few lines!

Excellent work, both of you -- encore!
