Reality A butterfly rested a fragile leaf, Wings of color beyond belief, Swaying in rapture a marvel of sight, Plucked, devoured, in just one bite. Near and watchful hunting on a branch, A tongue lashed out, an avalanche And stole precious life by sabotage, A chameleon in camouflage. When a bird swooped in a crafty catch, A wanted meal a cunning snatch, Ate the chameleon as a proper prey And I watched it all, today. But from my window just down below I spied a cat bellying low, Just inching up on the bird in feed, I pulled the shade to block the deed. Reality is a terminus watch And I'd say this called for a shot of scotch. |

Ahh Sy. What a wonderful look at reality. It can be such a cold and cunning thing. It is the pleasures in our lives (like passions) that make it easier to bare. Great writing Sir. |

Yeah, but - Sy.... Those little lizard things are soooooo abundant in Florida.... A guy could get downright intoxicated watching a show like that one.. [This message has been edited by Nan (edited 01-12-2000).] |

Ah, the vicious cycle of life, Sy...and then a neighbor's dog came along to make short work of the cat..then the owner of the WOK YOUR DOG restaurant came by to take care of the dog....and then we came by for the early bird special....and then, of course, God came along............. |

The circle of life is round without an end How long you circle well it all depends Depends how fast is the bird The cat pulling at his shirt (pictorially spoken) You always do so well dear Sir…Sy But I rather have a rye For I’m waiting for the cat To see if it is round and fat The ability to describe life with words is similar to painting a picture; both can be powerful tools. |

The circle of life is too complex, leaving me feeling sorry and vexed, but if I may join in your merry rhyme, I do it and toast with wine. Sunshine Look, then, into thine heart, and write ~~~ Henry Wadsworth Longfellow |

This was a treat to read! Ah, reality! ... This took talent, to so carefully word the earthy pith of life, and lace it with hilarious humor at the same time! This, and all the funny comments gave us a good laugh! |
