Listening to every heart

Oh my poetic visionary and lover most extraordinaire
could I be your loved one, would I even compare
to those you’ve loved and lusted in your life’s long-ago
or would you rather me not even begin to know?

Tho I cannot give you my all and everything,
just my entire being for all of its earthly worth,
for when I read your words of giving and love
I feel as if I’ve been newly and lustily birthed.

You open all my senses, I feel as if you’re the sun
by entering my private areas, those I’ve kept for The One.
Is it you? Are my dreams encompassed in your speech
of poetry and prose and rhymes that for me beseech?

Not looking for this feeling, your words have left me reeling,
I hesitate to speak for my knees they have gone weak.
Is it you? Are you the one tho not sought have brought
to me your earthly love that I did not seek?

Or are you just a dream that I’ve webbed so fine
and your words are spirits whispering through the pines
as I lay here ‘neath nature’s window, alone but not despaired
for at least your words have whispered that which I would share.

I looked for words in which I shall reply
Your poem touched me and I know the reason why
The flow of passion is clearly here to see
To describe Love...well done has thee
I can read a second time
And hear the weeping sound of pine
This poem deserves the word "divine"

The ability to describe life with words is similar to painting a picture; both can be powerful tools.

Claire, Helmut, Rainbow, thank you all for reading.  I truly enjoy whatever responses my pieces illicit, as illustrated in Helmut's response.  Thank you!

I don't know why I wasn't notified that I had so many responses to this, but thank you, all, for reading, and I am so very glad that you have enjoyed this reposting.  This one "speaks" to me, and I'm glad it does to you, too!
