"Daddy"

"Daddy,daddy" she calls to me,
As i lower my paper and cup of tea.
"What is wrong my child?"
As i turn to her aid,
Tripping over the cat near the fire where it laid.
"Daddy, daddy please come quick!"
As i climb to my feet the cat got a kick!
"What is wrong my sweetheart?"
As i entered the hall,
She sat there smiling,
"I just wanted a kiss...thats all".

Welcome Gary....nicely done, brings back memories of some of the same "emergencies" I've responded to with my kids....

My three sons are all grown up now and far away but I still see them when I can. Sometimes when I'm in a super market or department store and I hear a young boy calling his dad it reminds me of many years ago when me and my boys were shopping and they would get all excited over something they wanted me to look at or buy and I could hear them from across the store saying Dad....Dad....look at this or Dad...Dad...come over here or dad where are you.  Sometimes I'll even turn around and look because it seems like one of my sons is once again that little boy wandering thru that store with me.    James

This is very sweet.  Children have the nicest emergencies sometimes, don't they?

How charged with punishments the scroll;
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

This is precious, Gary! Welcome to Passions!

I can relate to what James said up there about being in the supermarket! I still turn to look when I hear a little one calling 'Mommy, Mommy'...you have to tell yourself it's not you they are calling! Funny, huh?! Check your email, Gary!  < !signature-->
