The Threshold of Love From the edge of love uncertain To the pour of passion's dare Is but a hairline of a moment In the birth of heart's aware It's the coming of life's purpose To the doorway of its time Opened by another's wanting To the course of love sublime In the patient threshold waiting Stands the figure of his soul And the other half my being Its completion to the whole To approach is all my wanting To step forth is in my wait To tread the footsteps longing Is the certain of my fate Elizabeth Santos [This message has been edited by Elizabeth Santos (edited 12-28-1999).] |

Elizabeth, you continue to amaze me with your gift. . . "The pour of passion's dare. . . " I love that line. . . standing on the precipice of love. . .too often we fall in. . . but isn't it fun? Beautiful, my friend. . That which gives light must endure burning --Victor Frankl |

Delicately presented, this piece interprets that threshold with truth, intuition, and heartfilling inspiration. Very tender. |

Elizabeth, Your poem is exquisite I can say little more, Except to pay another visit And read it again once more. PS. I've had alot of trouble with my computer And if I have to bring it in to be fixed I'll be off the air for some time. I hope not, but I'll try to let you know If it's necessary. Love Sy |

I have to say now, after reading many of your poems, that I am in awe at your talent. Haven't yet read one that was less than strikingly beautiful! I don't always reply, because you always have such rave reviews from many others before me, but I love them nonetheless...Just wanted to let you know, your work has not gone unnoticed from me! Thank each of you for your kind remarks.Sven, Sy, Hoot, and PoetFemme, I was deeply touched But I must truthfully admit, I did not concieve the first verse to this poem. It came to me in a dream last night and in the dream I was memorizing this verse, and when I awoke it was still in my head, so I ran down to my computer and typed it out. Which leads me to suspect, I may have read it somewhere. I hope it's not plagiarized. If so, please speak up, dear poet, or forever hold your peace. If this is not the case, it was a phantom spirit that visited me last night, who wrote this poetry. And I thank him. Liz |

Very beautiful! ~*~ Hell is not a place of fire and a devil with a tail and horns. But a place of torment because the light of God is gone. To escape this, accept the blood of Jesus Christ! ~*~ |

Echo, Thank you! Kamla, I'm riding out on galloped horse Kicking dust throughout the place And Kamla stands there silently With dusty dust upon her face For I must continue without fail To carry out my earthly quest The world would simply not survive If I don't write my very best You are just too cute! Love ya, Liz |
