Sweet, sweet! O cherishable song of sirens Listen how they sing, they chant, they inspire! Veritable wine it is, that draws me closer I cannot fight it Forgetting, forgiving, knowing nothing but sweetness I want it to never end With gold and diamond chains Locking us away It is our own feet bringing us to this forsaken place Listen, listen! O beautiful ringing of the bells I imagine Hear how you can hear your future ringing! Can you hear it? Just one step closer and you'll be there! For you know that there is no other road to take Forget your past, forget your woes, forget everything but the sweetness I feel the strange sort of peace settling The smith building, creating, forming Our own hearts tied to a thing We thought we wanted, but was always too far Hurry, hurry! O the swiftness of quicksilver See it speed away from you like a chased rabbit! Catch it before it escapes, catch it before starvation reaches Watch as the sweetness begins to dribble away Eating at you like a vulture And here is your chance to live again! No past to stand, a future so hazy to see clearly Your present is only filled with a dullness Sweetness has your oath of fealty So race like the wind to catch it before darkness descends! Live, live! Can't you see the siren's song pulling you to deep waters? Fight, fight! Can't you hear the bell's ringing fade away? Think, think! Is there anything else worth more than momentary sweetness? ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ I have no idea what I speak of in this terrible poem. I only know that I saw this quote: "Temptation hath a music for all ears." and that's was the end of the beginning for this particular subject. ~Astraea [who officially thinks that this is her worst poem yet] |

(laughing at you being so hard on yourself!) I happen to like it alot! I really liked the mechanics of the thing! Very interesting indeed - how you kept the format the same...I'm sure there's a name, or something for that...although I'm not familiar with the details ..I should ask Nan...she knows everything! hehe Anyway, I'm glad you shared! It's nice to see variety in here from time to time! |

I enjoyed this one too! ~*~ Hell is not a place of fire and a devil with a tail and horns. But a place of torment because the light of God is gone. To escape this, accept the blood of Jesus Christ! ~*~ |
