"A poem to you " My friend, the best you'd say But Your life was taken away This drug it always kills Cold, slow and painful I love you , my best friend You told not of your addiction Nothing I could do It would take your life Before my eyes I wept at your funeral Tears flowed down my face As I watched you my friend Lowered to your resting place You now I believe Look out for me One wish if I could have Id go back and say goodbye Not to remember you in this mind Of death on the floor Beneath me Eight long years have passed Tough times without you there Memories of happy times we shared Not a day I dont think of you Today I wept again As I sat next to you Telling You of my life And how much I miss you |

This is so sad, Whiskey. Such a shame. Writing, I think, is the best way to deal with your grief. Too bad we can't turn back time, but, of course, we can't. Denise |

I think we all know of someone like this in our lives at one point or another... beautiful poem. Very touching. [This message has been edited by Grandma Jo (edited 01-07-2000).] |

After reading the last poem you wrote about your friend that passed away, I wondered at the reason, and now that I know, my heart goes out to you more deeply than ever..HUGS! Open arms can be the most fragile in the world... |

I don't think 'all' is true Hoot. I think it's more true that we learn to incorporate it in our DNA and devolop the strength to carry it. Whiskey -- you are a mellow brew; barrell aged with oak flavour...and a vibrant spirit... huggsz |

Whiskey... You and I have one thing in common, we lost a best friend the same way. Hoot is right, time is a wonderful healer, just slower at certain things. ((((HUGS)))) Wonderful poem. B Gravitt |
